Fertilization & Drought Resistant Fertilizers

To keep your lawn healthy, thick, and with a strong root system, all year-round it needs to be properly fed with the right nutrients at the right time of the year. Our seasonally balanced fertilizer and micronutrient treatments give your lawn exactly what it needs at exactly the right time.

Crabgrass Prevention & Weed Control

Crabgrass and other weeds ruin the look of your lawn. Our year round service takes care of both pre-emergent and post-emergent crabgrass and weeds leaving your lawn strong, vibrant and weed free.

Turf Damaging Insect Control

Summer brings you the opportunity to enjoy a lush, green lawn, unfortunately- summer also brings insects that love to eat your grass’s leaves and roots. Our specialists are experienced and trained to recognize and treat your lawn for armyworms, grubs and other turf damaging insects all year round.

Lime

Soil acidity here in the Southeast is critical to the way plants absorb the nutrients they need to grow lush and green. Our technicians adjust your lawn’s pH level by the application of an annual pelletized lime application. By creating the optimum conditions in the soil, we maximize the efficiency of the fertilizer absorption giving you a lush, green lawn that will be the envy of those around you.

Bennett Landscape’s Organic Lawn Care Program

Now available to treat your lawn or as an option to replace your current synthetic/chemical lawn care program. Unlike synthetic fertilizers, organic fertilizer feeds the soil which in return feeds the plant. Your soil is a tiny ecosystem that depends on minerals and microbes for maximum health. Our Organic Lawn Program adds minerals to the soil and encourages microbial growth, without potential burning of the plants or leaching into groundwater. With balance restored, your plants grow to their full potential. Just some of the benefits of the program are:

  • SAFE to apply around people and animals
  • SAFE to apply around all water sources
  • Can be traveled on immediately after application
  • Fewer applications than synthetics
  • Less watering required
  • No chemical additives or contaminants
  • Pathogen and weed seed free
  • Shifts soil pH to neutral
  • Promotes water penetration & retention into soil
Tree & Shrub Treatments

The mission of our Tree and Shrub Division is to provide you with a program of quality and timely applications to control certain insects and diseases that can mar the beauty of your trees and shrubs. Insects such as Japanese Beetles and tent caterpillars and diseases like leaf spot fungus and shot hole disease can be common problems in this area. We control other insects preventively throughout the year by targeting the times they are most active and the shrubs they are most likely to attack.

During late fall and spring, we apply horticultural oil products to control insect eggs and larvae. These applications are like applying a “Pre-emergent” to your trees and shrubs. We can significantly reduce insect damage to your landscape by controlling the insects before they mature into adults and begin to reproduce.

Insect season in Georgia is normally during late spring through early fall. During this time we apply contact and systemic insect and disease control to target your ornamental trees and shrubs at least four times. This reduces the damage caused by insects and disease to your trees and shrubs.

We also make sure we take care of the parts of your trees and shrubs that you don’t see by injecting slow-release fertilizer into the ground around your trees and shrubs. This fertilizer not only provides plants with the necessary nutrients to allow them to bloom, but also helps to relieve soil compaction.

Go Green While Reducing Your Overall Watering
  • Maximize Your Plant’s Health and Production
  • Minimize Drought Stress

When thousands of dollars in landscaping investment is at risk, drought-related plant stress is no joke. And as more people are starting to realize, drought is a year-long problem and not simply tied to warmer months. Applying more water is often not effective, and is even becoming illegal in many parts of the country with more and more homeowners and professionals alike being served with steep fines for violating water restriction ordinances.

EcoSential Moisture Manager is a proprietary blend of the patented Hydretain Root Zone Moisture Management technology combined with an advanced naturally-derived soil surfactant formulated specifically to reduce watering needs.

Moisture Manager attracts free water molecules like tiny water magnets, converting them into microscopic droplets and storing them on plant roots and soil particle surfaces. These droplets are then drawn into the plant roots extracting additional moisture from humidity within the soil. Moisture Manager converts otherwise unavailable soil moisture into usable water droplets, accelerating seed hydration and resulting in significantly improved germination rates, as well as the faster establishment of seedlings, sod, and sprigs. EcoSential helps give you a beautiful year-round lawn and landscape while reducing the chances of a visit from the water police!

By properly managing moisture levels in the soil you are helping to break the drought cycle in plants. In doing so, you and your plants benefit in a number of ways:

  • Minimize Drought Stress
  • Control or Eliminate Dry Spots
  • Enhance Nutrient Efficiency
  • Optimize Pesticide Efficiency
  • Improve Seed Germination
  • Increase Transplant Survival
  • Reduce Watering by up to 50%
  • Reduce water bills

Moisture Manager is the cornerstone of a year round soil moisture management program whether you are maintaining existing turf and plants or ensuring the survival of new sod, seed, sprigs, bedding plants, shrubs or trees.

Southeastern clay soil can become very compacted within short periods of time. Core aeration relieves this compaction and increases the air, water, and nutrient uptake to the roots of your grass. The reduced compaction allows the grass roots to grow deeper and stronger. Deep growing roots are less susceptible to damage from freezes, frost, wind chill and summer heat. We aerate every section twice to ensure you receive all of the benefits this process gives.

Spring is the best time to aerate warm season lawns and fall is the best time to aerate and overseed cool season lawns. Since fescue doesn’t spread like Bermuda or Zoysia, it is important that it be periodically re-seeded to maintain proper turf density and give you a lush, vibrant lawn. A thick, healthy lawn will not only have fewer weeds and fewer problems with lawn diseases, but it will look so fantastic- you’ll want to run your hands through it! We use a special blend of different hybrid turf-type fescue seeds, core aerate the areas twice before seeding and then lay the seed on thick to ensure you get the very best lawn.

Top Dressing a lawn means adding organic material, river sand, to the surface of the turf. The purpose of top dressing is to fill in minor low areas that have developed over the seasons, and to build up an ideal soil layer over the years. Top dressing also enables the turf to grow thicker which helps prevent weeds. The soil surface is gradually built up which helps thatch decompose in this layer and drought resistance is improved. Top dressing will increase nutrition uptake of the lawn, balance moisture content of soil, alleviate compaction and enhance root development.

There is nothing worse to be walking barefoot through your beautifully maintained lawn only to feel the sharp bites of a multitude of fire ants on your exposed feet, ankles and legs! Our granular fire ant control treatment is applied to your entire property and controls fire ant activity for up to a year. If you see a fire ant mound during that time, simply call us and as with all of our services we will come back and treat the infected area free of charge.
